Dr. Ian Gao

Sports Injuries | Arthroscopic Shoulder & Knee Surgery | ACL & Rotator Cuff Injuries
Dr. Gao grew up in Clemson, SC, and graduated from Duke University. He then went to medical school at Northwestern University and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Emory University. He then completed his sports medicine fellowship at Stanford University where he was also a team physician for Stanford Football, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Volleyball, and the Oakland Athletics Major League Baseball team. Dr. Gao is excited to return home to the Upstate and is looking forward to serving and giving back to the community that helped shape who he is today.
