Dr. Efird completed his undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech and earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following medical school, Dr. Efird pursued residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Hip and Knee Replacement at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Focusing on his specialties during fellowship helps prepare him to deliver high-quality care to his patients. He is committed to staying current with the latest advancements in orthopedic surgery through active participation in professional societies such as the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS). Known for his thorough approach and surgical expertise, Dr. Efird strives to improve the mobility and quality of life for his patients. Dr. Efird has one son, Luke and a lovely wife, Elaina. He enjoys traveling, blacksmithing, spending time at the lake, and trying out new foods with his wife. Dr. Efird looks forward to returning to the Carolinas to be closer to family and serve the Upstate.
